A penthouse suite with a dreamlike Alpine panorama, exceptional sleeping comfort and hospitality that left a lasting impression on us. We spent three days full of special moments at the Panorama Royal in Bad Häring, a five-star wellness hotel where luxury is not just something you see, but above all something you feel.

A little piece of Alpine fairy tale

Sometimes it takes only a moment to sense that you have arrived somewhere special. When we reached the Panorama Royal in Bad Häring late in the evening, the Tyrolean mountains already lay in darkness. The hotel greeted us with warm, almost fairy-tale lighting. Rooms glowed behind the windows, and outside the outlines of the mountains stood out against the night. It was a sight we liked immediately, and it gave us a hint of the atmosphere that would accompany us over the coming days.

From 29 October to 1 November 2026 we were guests at this officially five-star wellness hotel for a gourmet weekend. We had been invited by the Panorama Royal; the invitation covered our three nights, breakfast and participation in the culinary programme. We paid for our own drinks.

When we arrived, we did not yet know that a penthouse suite of around 80 square metres had been prepared for us. That made the surprise all the greater later on. Yet as much as this extraordinary accommodation delighted us, it was not to be the only thing that made this stay special. Sometimes a truly lovely hotel experience comes from the interplay of many small things which may seem a matter of course on their own, but together add up to something exceptional.

Where the mountains set the finest scene

The journey to Bad Häring already hinted at what lay ahead. We travelled by train as far as Wörgl and were taken from there to the hotel by organised transfer. The roads became quite narrow in places, and with every stretch that brought us closer to our destination, the Tyrolean mountains moved further into the foreground. The shuttle was comfortable and straightforward. Guests arriving by car will, from what we observed, find enough parking at the hotel.

But the real reward for the journey is this landscape. Mountains, wooded slopes, small villages and an expanse that is hard to put into words. The surroundings genuinely reminded us of the sweeping landscape shots in The Lord of the Rings. Of New Zealand, of fairy-tale valleys and of those places that make you wonder whether they can really be so beautiful. The view from the Panorama Royal gave us a fairly clear answer.

It became especially impressive in the evening. Long after the sun had gone and the first lights of houses and roads came on in the valleys, the panorama turned into a quiet sea of lights. We could hardly get enough of this sight. The mountains here are not simply a pretty backdrop for a hotel. They are part of the experience, make everyday life suddenly seem far away and create exactly the kind of calm that people travel to Tyrol for in the first place.

A welcome from the heart

Inside, we were given the kind of welcome we hope for from a hotel of this class. We were personally greeted by our host, in a friendly, warm and attentive way that immediately made us feel welcome. Our late arrival brought a brief moment of bustle at check-in, but the team’s friendliness and professionalism left no doubt: here, guests are looked after.

What we found remarkable was that this personal atmosphere was not limited to the first welcome. Our host remained present throughout the following days, sought out conversations with guests and took time for personal encounters. What at first seemed like a particularly warm greeting soon turned out to be a guiding principle of the hotel.

A penthouse suite that left us speechless

There are moments on a journey that stay with you. The moment we first stepped into our suite is undoubtedly one of them. We had been looking forward to a nice room. What actually awaited us, however, far exceeded anything we had imagined.

Around 80 square metres of living comfort, a generous living area, a dining area of its own, a separate bedroom and an electric fireplace. Two televisions and stylish furnishings with plenty of wood and warm light. Add to that two balconies and a roof terrace with sun loungers. And everywhere, that panorama. It was as if someone had tried to capture the beauty of the Tyrolean mountains and give it an especially cosy place to linger.

Above all, we liked the atmosphere of the rooms. All the wood gave the suite a pleasant warmth. The lighting was so harmonious that we felt at ease from the very first moment. Luxury does not have to feel cool or distant. At the Panorama Royal we experienced the opposite: generous space and high-quality furnishings combined with a cosiness that invites you to linger.

The suite also won us over in practical terms. There was plenty of storage space, even for a much longer stay. The wardrobes had interior lighting. Underfloor heating and air conditioning allowed the temperature to be set individually in each room. Everything felt high quality, well kept and almost new.

For us, though, the most beautiful thing was the view. Whether looking out over the autumn landscape by day or at the small lights in the valleys in the evening, sometimes it was enough simply to stand there and gaze out. We have rarely stayed in a hotel room where we so enjoyed spending time. The balconies and the roof terrace gave this exceptional accommodation a quality all of its own.

We were of course aware that the penthouse suite is a particularly exclusive part of the hotel’s accommodation. Our impression therefore relates expressly to this suite and cannot simply be applied to every room category. For us, in any case, it was a little home above the rooftops of Bad Häring, where we felt thoroughly at ease from the first moment.

When even the night becomes part of the rest

Tempting as the view from our room was, at some point even we had to go to bed. And that was where one of the greatest surprises of our stay was waiting. The beds were exceptionally comfortable and offered a level of sleeping comfort we have only rarely experienced in this form.

We have stayed in many hotels and had very different experiences with mattresses. At the Panorama Royal we found a comfort that left a lasting impression on us. Even lying in the same position for a long time remained pleasant. It is a difference you notice all the more if you have to change position often in other beds.

On top of that came almost perfect quiet. No disturbing footsteps in the corridor, no conversations outside the door, no noise from outside. The blackout also worked superbly. At night it was simply silent, and we could focus entirely on what a relaxing holiday should really be about: settling down and building up new energy.

When you consider how much rest depends on good sleep, it quickly becomes clear why this area in particular delighted us so much. We slept extremely well and felt accordingly rested in the morning. Perhaps this is one of the finest forms of luxury: sinking into a wonderfully comfortable bed in the evening, forgetting the world outside for a few hours and actually waking up refreshed the next morning. At the Panorama Royal we managed that remarkably well.

Attention to detail, in the bathroom too

The generous use of space continued in the bathroom. A walk-in shower, a bathtub, two washbasins and a large mirror offered plenty of comfort. There was also an additional make-up mirror, a hairdryer and various toiletries. The separate toilet was especially pleasant.

Here too, the materials, design and fittings matched the character of the rest of the suite very well. The storage space was practical, the shower worked reliably and there was nothing to fault in terms of cleanliness. An illuminated make-up mirror would have been a nice addition, but overall the high level of comfort in the suite carried over convincingly into the bathroom.

The people make the difference

Perhaps this is the loveliest insight from our days in Bad Häring: however impressively a hotel may be built, furnished and equipped, it only becomes truly special through the people who work there. And that, for us, is one of the greatest strengths of the Panorama Royal.

During our stay we met a team that worked with exceptional attentiveness and warmth. At reception, in the restaurant, in housekeeping and in room service, people treated us in a friendly, helpful and professional way. It was less the grand gestures that touched us than the small situations in between.

There was a Nespresso machine in our suite. As we enjoyed using it, we phoned for extra coffee capsules after the very first night. Shortly afterwards a tray arrived with fresh capsules and a small glass jug of milk. Nice service, but at first nothing entirely unusual for a five-star hotel.

The next day we called reception again. Before we had even said what we wanted, we were asked with a friendly laugh whether we needed more coffee capsules. We had to smile. They really had remembered, and it was precisely this personal attentiveness that made the moment so special.

We found another small detail even nicer. Housekeeping had evidently noticed how often we used the coffee machine. So at some point the small waste bin was standing right next to it, making it easy to dispose of the empty capsules. Nobody had asked for this; it had simply been noticed.

Moments like these sometimes say more about the quality of a hotel than even the most lavish furnishings. They show that hospitality here consists of more than friendly words. People pay attention to how guests shape their stay and try to make things a little more pleasant for them. That was exactly the feeling that stayed with us for the whole three days.

We felt looked after without the service ever seeming intrusive. We were addressed personally without any loss of professional distance. And we had the impression that our host’s warm attitude is genuinely lived by the staff. That particularly impressed us and is among our fondest memories of this stay.

A breakfast worth looking forward to

After a restful night, a good breakfast is for us one of the best parts of a hotel stay. At the Panorama Royal we could look forward each morning to a selection that lived up to our high expectations. High-quality cheeses and cold cuts, cured salmon ham, various jams, mueslis and freshly squeezed orange juice were all on offer.

We especially liked the open kitchen, where scrambled eggs, omelettes and other small dishes were freshly prepared. This was not simply about setting up the largest possible buffet. Rather, we had the feeling that importance was placed on product quality and fresh preparation. The service was attentive and friendly too.

We found the atmosphere in the breakfast area pleasant. For us, the particular shine of this hotel lay more in the suite, the quiet and the personal care, but in culinary terms too the day began at a very high level. As our breakfast was part of the invitation, we cannot judge the value of a separately booked breakfast from our own experience of paying for it. What we can certainly judge is the quality of what ended up on our plates. And that won us over.

Pleasure meets relaxation: a weekend of special moments

On the weekend of our visit the Panorama Royal hosted a special culinary programme. Under the motto “Genuss trifft auf Entspannung” (pleasure meets relaxation), various chefs had been invited, bringing with them very different experiences and culinary signatures. The lovingly designed menu cards, on which the chefs were personally introduced, already showed how much effort had gone into organising the gourmet weekend.

The Open Kitchen Party stayed in our memory as a particular highlight. Here we experienced the culinary side of the Panorama Royal at its most wonderfully informal. The atmosphere was casual, lively and pleasantly relaxed. Add to that food that tasted excellent and made this evening one of the loveliest shared experiences of our stay.

It was precisely this blend of good food and good company that we liked so much. After the quiet hours in our suite and the impressive views of the Tyrolean mountains, the event offered a welcome change. It showed us that the Panorama Royal can be not only a place of peace and rest, but also a hotel where people spend special evenings together.

A wellness hotel with impressive facilities

The Panorama Royal is far more than a hotel with a beautiful view and comfortable rooms. A central part of the hotel is its extensive wellness offering. During our stay we looked around large parts of the complex, including the pool and spa areas and the fitness area. The bar, the lounge and various common rooms were also part of our impressions.

What we saw fitted harmoniously into the overall picture. The areas appeared spacious, stylishly designed and very well kept. Everywhere we encountered the same pleasant atmosphere we already knew from the rest of the hotel. We had no complaints about cleanliness either.

However, we must draw a clear line around our own experience here: we did not use the actual wellness offerings ourselves during this visit. We therefore cannot judge how the pools feel for swimming, how pleasant a sauna session is or what quality individual treatments offer. Our positive impression relates to the facilities we viewed, their design and their state of upkeep. Actual use therefore remains expressly outside our review.

Comfort that makes everything easy

Alongside the big impressions, it was also the practical amenities that made our stay so pleasant. The Wi-Fi worked reliably and was powerful enough to work without any problems. In the suite, the various light sources could be conveniently controlled by remote. The individually adjustable room temperature added further comfort.

There was a coffee machine, a kettle and a minibar. Several sockets near the bed proved extremely practical. In these technical details too, the suite felt well thought out. We did not use any further digital hotel services and therefore have not assessed them.

The Panorama Royal naturally belongs to an upscale hotel category. Anyone staying here will have corresponding expectations. For us, the particular value of this stay came above all from the combination of generous accommodation, high-quality furnishings and a service that went far beyond simply fulfilling everyday requests.

As we were invited and stayed in a particularly exclusive suite, we cannot give a final verdict on the value for money of a regularly booked stay. The comfort we actually experienced and the personal care, however, left us with an exceptionally positive impression.

When everyday life grew quieter

When we set off for Bad Häring, we were very much looking forward to the visit. We expected a beautiful wellness hotel, an impressive landscape and a few restful days in Tyrol. We were especially curious about the interplay of Alpine surroundings, high-quality hotel facilities and the culinary programme of the gourmet weekend.

After arriving, we first needed some time to settle down. The past few days and the journey were still in our bones, and the switch from everyday routine to the relaxed atmosphere of a wellness hotel does not always happen at the push of a button. But at some point, almost unnoticed, that special holiday feeling set in.

You stop checking the clock all the time. You enjoy the atmosphere, the view, the pleasant warmth of the rooms. You are glad of a friendly conversation, a lovely breakfast and the fact that someone is taking care of the small things. Everyday life moves into the background, and suddenly everything feels a little lighter.

For us, that was one of the greatest qualities of this stay. The Panorama Royal offered not only impressive facilities, but created an environment in which we could really relax. The quiet of the nights, the cosy atmosphere of our suite and the attentive service came together in an overall experience that exceeded our already high expectations.

Our verdict: a special memory

There are hotels you recommend for their location. Others for their rooms, their food or a particularly beautiful spa. With the Panorama Royal it is hard for us to name just one reason, because its special effect came precisely from the combination of these different qualities.

Of course, our penthouse suite was an extraordinary experience. The generous rooms, the warm furnishings, the roof terrace and the glorious Alpine panorama will stay with us for a long time. So will the sleeping comfort, which was among the best we have ever experienced in a hotel.

But when we think back to Bad Häring, we also think of the people. Of the host who greets guests personally. Of the staff who looked after us as a matter of course. Of the small gestures nobody had asked for, which delighted us all the more for that reason.

For us, that was the real luxury. Not just the feeling of staying in a particularly exclusive hotel, but the certainty that someone is making sure we have a lovely time. Our stay was not perfect in every tiniest detail. But the few things we might have wished to be slightly different faded well into the background given the many beautiful impressions.

For us, the Panorama Royal is among the finest hotel experiences we have had so far. And as we sat in one of the cosy lounges on the day of our departure, with flames flickering in the electric fireplace and soft music filling the room, we became aware once more of what we found so special about this hotel. It was that rare interplay of impressive surroundings, exceptional comfort and hospitality that made itself felt from the first moment to the last.

We would gladly have stayed longer.

Based on our own experience, we particularly recommend the Panorama Royal to couples who want to take time for each other and who value peace, exceptionally beautiful surroundings and personal service. Anyone who loves the Tyrolean mountains and is looking for a hotel where you feel completely at ease even without excursions will, in our impression, find very good conditions here.

The eingecheckt® Score: 99 out of 100 points

The Hotel Panorama Royal in Bad Häring is officially classified as a five-star hotel. This classification should not be confused with our editorial eingecheckt® Score.

We do not award hotel stars.

Our eingecheckt® Score reflects only how we experienced our particular stay in a penthouse suite from 29 October to 1 November 2026. We were invited by the hotel.

We rated our actual experience of the location and arrival, check-in, room, cleanliness, sleep comfort, bathroom, service, breakfast and technical equipment. The value-for-money rating is based on the comfort and personal care we experienced, not on a stay we paid for ourselves.

We were particularly impressed by the sleep comfort, the suite and the attentive service. Small deductions were made for the bathroom and the technology, among other areas.

The Wellness & Facilities rating relates to the facilities we viewed, their design and their state of upkeep. We did not use the wellness offerings themselves. As a matter of principle, areas we did not test are not artificially assigned zero points.

The overall rating therefore reflects a stay that exceeded our already high expectations.
